Job Summary

Nexus is looking to hire a methodical and driven Senior IBA Technician, who will be working with the IBA Department, allocating, monitoring and reporting of Premium Bank Accounts and Carrier Declaration Bordereaux. This role has accountability for ensuring information is accurate and produced in a timely and efficient manner. The Senior IBA Technician will also act as a subject matter expert for less experienced team members and our underwriting departments to ensure data accuracy.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

  • Monitoring incoming premium transactions into our bank accounts and supporting colleagues to reconcile these within 2 working days of receipt;
  • Resolving processing queries for Underwriters and IBA colleagues to promote a “Right First Time” mentality to data quality;
  • Demonstrating an excellent knowledge of the systems used by the business, particularly the underwriting systems, CRB and Paid Declaration Bordereaux;
  • Using market and product knowledge to support the teams processing queries on endorsements, tax, NCB and YEA etc. Ensuring the differences between London Market Slip business and Regional Market processes are considered when making business decisions;
  • Monitoring unallocated cash ensuring Brokers are chased for remittances or query resolution;
  • The collection and management of outstanding debt ensuring month end debt reporting can be completed;
  • Ensuring monthly broker statements are produced, and issued within 5 working days after calendar month end;
  • Weekly calculation and draw down of Nexus income to be monitored and reported in line with the individual binder agreements;
  • Promoting individual and team profile, acting as a point of reference to our internal and external customers, raising the profile of the department’s roles and responsibilities;
  • Production of month end Declaration Bordereaux for review and submission to carriers;
  • Reviewing and signing off Declaration Bordereaux produced by colleagues before release to carriers;
  • Supporting department management on ad-hoc projects and reporting requirements across all carriers;
  • Attending Underwriter and Broker meetings where subject knowledge of our processes and market experience are required to ensure our requirements are considered;
  • Providing training on process and systems to less experienced team members, particularly on re-issue and unaccept requests when correcting data errors;
  • Escalating concerns or issues to department management with recommendations of possible solutions or process enhancements;
  • Playing an active role in recruitment requirements, providing feedback on potential CV’s and candidates following the interview process;
  • Ensure that Nexus Brand and code of conduct is adhered to at all times both within the workplace or at other external events;
  • Adhere to Nexus policies;
  • Refer any matter beyond the level of an individual’s experience or authority to their line manager;
  • Complete a minimum of 15 hours of continuous professional development annually.

Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience

Qualifications

  • Ideally educated to A Level standard or equivalent with a minimum 2 A Levels in Maths or a similar field

Skills

  • Experience of using all Microsoft Office packages
  • Ideally will have advanced knowledge of Excel, including ability to use and create VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
  • Independent and timely decision making
  • Able to organise self, plan workload and meet deadlines
  • Results-oriented
  • Approachable and able to interact with different levels of people and management

Knowledge / Experience

  • Previous experience and a proven track record in the same of similar role would be ideal
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services sector
  • Ideally experience of working in MGA or similar environment
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in IBA or similar role
