Job Summary

To acquire Trade Credit Insurance new business and contribute to the top line growth of Credit Risk Solutions, a specialist Credit Insurance Broker.

Provide a regular flow of new business opportunities for telemarketing and share information and experience with colleagues working in the wider New Business team.  Provide market intelligence and monthly updates to colleagues across the business and the executive management team.

Regular communication with potential new clients of CRS and professional business relationships, including relevant market information in both written and verbal form.  Negotiate and liaise with the underwriting market regarding individual new business cases.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver new business from a variety of sources including internal & external introductions
  • Develop and cultivate relationships within the local business community
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with the Trade Credit Underwriting sector and negotiate with Underwriters accordingly
  • Identify potential new business opportunities and work with colleagues to close such opportunities where appropriate
  • Provide innovative solutions to enquiries received from external partners
  • Present reports and presentations to prospective clients and other professional partners
  • Work as part of a cohesive team to grow and develop the CRS Birmingham office
  • Represent CRS brand and values
  • Complete a minimum of 15 hours of continuous professional development annually
  • Refer any matter beyond the level of an individual’s experience or authority to their line manager

Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience


  • Educated to at least A’Level standard. A degree would be preferable, but not essential. 


  • Good communication and a high level of written English is essential
  • A proven track record of successful sales in a professional environment is essential 
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work as part of a wider team
  • IT literate with knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are essential
  • Use of LinkedIn preferable
  • Clean driving license essential 


  • Previous success of selling credit insurance is preferable, but not essential 
  • Knowledge of credit insurance is preferable 
  • Knowledge of financial products relevant to a range of businesses and sectors is essential
  • A track record of working in a professional services environment is essential
