Job Summary

Xenia Broking Group (independent broking arm of the Nexus Group), a leading and among the largest specialist trace credit and surety brokers in the UK are looking to grow their team in Halifax. We are seeking to hire an experienced, ambitious and client-focused Account Manager to work with the team in our busy and dynamic office in Halifax. As an Account Manager you will be administering a portfolio of clients, ensuring account renewal and liaising with clients and Underwriters as required. You will be delivering a high level of support to clients, and supporting new business initiatives through collaboration with colleagues.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

  • Renewal and ongoing servicing of a portfolio of existing clients, ensuring adherence to FCA and internal compliance guidelines;
  • Collaboration with Account Brokers and trainees to offer practical training and guidance;
  • Ensuring records are fully and properly maintained on Goldmine database;
  • Development of client relationships, ensuring all are visited on an annual basis (minimum requirement);
  • Training of clients on basic policy administration;
  • Supporting/advising clients on credit limit appeals, overdue accounts, negotiation of claims, and submission of turnover declarations;
  • Timely negotiation of client renewals in accordance with compliance guidelines;
  • Working with new business team to identify target companies and grow sales;
  • Managing and developing underwriter and other professional relationships;
  • Providing management information on renewals on a timely basis;
  • Ensuring that Xenia Brand and code of conduct is adhered to at all times both within the workplace or at other external events;
  • Referring any matter beyond the level of an individual’s experience or authority to their line manager;
  • Completing a minimum of 15 hours of continuous professional development annually.

Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience

  • Ideally educated to a degree (e.g Business Studies, Economics), as a minimum to A Levels with strong performance in English and Mathematics;
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi- task;
  • The ability to work under pressure;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Attention to detail and deadlines;
  • Accurate record keeping;
  • IT literate with knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are essential;
  • Practical hands-on experience in the Credit Insurance industry managing, retaining and growing a book of TCI clients; working in a reputable brokerage firm for a minimum of 4-5 years, ideally longer;
  • AND/OR
  • Experience working for one of the Credit Insurance Underwriters in an underwriting or business development role, or possibly but less relevant, a risk role.
