Nexus Underwriting Management is a unique and innovative private equity backed vehicle, established with the intent of offering a fast track entry into the professional lines market place for new insurers. Nexus provides support to new entrants to the market, with New start business plan development and execution of 3 to 5 year business plans for new entrant through first class distribution channels.
What Services does Nexus provide:
- On-going underwriting portfolio management by Management Board with 80 + years of experience (Hugh Morland, Ian Whistondale and Colin Thompson)
- Significant economies through shared services (IT, Compliance, Treasury, Finance, HR, Legal, Premises and General Admin)
- Underwriting team recruitment for each insurer and provision of all underwriting tools (rating models, work sheets and underwriting data bases)
- Bespoke and innovative product development
- Reinsurance programme build
- "One stop" shop to our intermediaries with non aggregating capacity (currently 30m GBP in total)
Our ultimate goal is to offer a fast, efficient and economical spring board into professional lines for insurers and first class on-going portfolio management.
Through our operating subsidiaries, Nexus will manage approximately US$80m of Gross Written Premium in 2012.
